On the mention of unreleased tracks from earlier... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtPlvYKUp9k&feature=related
After the remix of showdown, an epic dubstep tune, Ben says its "brand new VIP" in the video. Anyone know A. whether it was pendulum, and if not who it is, and B. where we can get it?

Yeah I'm right in NJ, same as you, and I missed that one :( WHYYYYYYY?????

Well, it seems like Rob and Gareth are in love with NYC so I will be able to see alot of them if I go to KP shows. Notice I said IF, not when. I like KP's music from a distance, but I'm not to sure if the club scene is for me. Looks a bit to crazy for me lmao. If their shows are anything like the UKF Birthday, I don't think I'd like it too much. I might develop a case of epilepsy

Oh yeah that was the track that rob said they tried out in the studio and the producers were like... what the fk on earth is that pile of crap, so they changed it to witchcraft in immersion album - Which would have been a huge hit (was a hit anyway) but bigger if they just sorted the lryics out a bit!

I can see where they're coming from, they have been performing live for ages, and fancy a change, nothing wrong with that!

dubstep is unlikely to evolve into the wider remit of people listening to it, because it's too difficult to add meaningful lryics to and the sound knife party produce (electro house, dubstep, etc) is not quite there yet - but in a couple years they might be able to use some of this style and turn it into a good live act

I've seen them 23 times and I've travelled to the US and Europe to do that. Yes I have the advantage of being old enough to do this and the finances (well a credit card!) Many would say the amount of times I saw them, especially in succession bordered on obsessive but I can assure you I enjoyed every f*****g moment and would do it all again in a heart beat. You only get one chance at life...live every moment as though it was your last.

How did you miss it? It was about a year and a half ago.

KP shows are INSANE. I usually try to stay out of the way but somehow I'm always drawn to the front ;)

In two weeks it will be a year since I have seen them live. It was the best show ever, it really sucks that Pendulum live shows are over, it was fucking amazing.
But I still am happy that I have seen them at least that one time, and I hope that there will be a new record in couple of years.
I understand them, I like KP as well, but for me, there is nothing better than Pendulum :info:

Don't hide, baby, show them just how deep it goes...

thats a really good track, but what is left for us is only Ibiza Rocks rip and thats a pity. To my mind its a VIP remix of Girl in the Fire. Why? Listen carefully to the mumbling lead synth then to GITF and you'll understand what I mean

p.s.
I asked Paul some time ago about this tune, there's no chance of getting it :sniffle:

After doing Knife party for two or three years I think going back to Pendulum will be such a massively refreshing change. Call me stupid but I still don't believe they will never do the live thing again. If they ever make another Pendulum record, I don't think they will be able to resist taking it out on the road as a live band again. A lot can change in a few years...

Interesting point there....from what I can tell, it really just seems like Rob is the only one who is fed up with live shows. I SERIOUSLY doubt KJ or Perry were complaining. I don't know about Gareth though. He seems to be neutral about all of this.

But it really doesn't matter in the end. Rob its the heart of the band. He should have final say.

UPDATE: Someone edited the Pendulum wiki page to say:

"Pendulum WERE an Australian-British drum and bass/rock band..."

I don't think it should use past tense. No one ever called it a "break-up"

The story seems to have taken on a life of its own on Twitter yesterday and now all the news outlets are reporting it. Rob seems very pleased that everyone is screaming and yelling about it too.

Well, if you listen to Encoder, the last track of the album, the last part sounds like they announce the end of Pendulum. Such a shame.

Gary, could you sort your picture? sorry to be a bother!

And Encoder does seem like a final fond farewell, but since at the time of writing there was no evidence to suggest this sort of thing would happen, i hope its just a (rather unhappy) coincidence

I doubt they were thinking of quitting at the time of writing the lyrics for Encoder. Don' forgot not long after Immersion was released, Rob was on about wanting to make a punk style album as Pendulum.

I remember Rob saying that Crush was the breakup song, and Encoder was about saying goodbye to friends.

Might be a coincidence but the last part of Encoder just fits perfectly. But with Rob you'll never know....

It seems all the shitty bands keep going and going and never go away. The quality bands die out way too fast. Then you have bands like the Rolling Stones who are still going 50 years too long....

Well, at least we can be safe in the knowledge that if Pendulum split up there will still be a fanbase here, and a forum where we can chat, knowing we all have one thing in common: Pendulum
