I think the main factor was the stage; in 2009, they played on The Other Stage which is more 'modern-orientated' IMO, and the crowd were mental; but this year it was the main stage so everyone there are fans of different genres.

I got a hq recording I'll upload when I've edited the ratio and that. Wasn't a great set although I liked the audio. The guitar and bass were more audible then previous sets.

My problem was the synths were way too quiet. It made Island Part 2 look just silly.

You mean Pendulum and Knife Party? Actually, they are NOT the same thing. Side projects are more like an alter ego. They may have the same players, but they're definitely not the "same thing." Most of the time the genre and direction are completely different from the main band.

yes, most of the time, i've yet to hear anything that proves that in this case

Watching the videos, I gotta say they are very quiet. What a dissappointment.

Here's The Vulture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkFzHNFp3j0

After watching it... Don't know... I'm really sorry for guys. I can see them rehearsing at the studio like "Shit maaan that'll just blow theyr heads! If we blew up Glasto at 2009 seconds stage, here'll be no probs" But they were.. Glasto 2009 one of my favoutite Pendulum LIVE, it was simply perfect. But this year... Sun>Lightning show, Bass>Synths, Pendulum energy> Whole crowd... Back in 2009, same festival, everything was different. Really sorry, they made so much for this fest: many rehearsals, new remix, new stage, new decorations... Fuck it. That's not the last one fest, everything'll be just aaaalllllll right:badger:

^This. There is 3 main points I can think of that will surely make Pendulum's T in the Park performance a lot better than their Glasto one.

1. Crowd
The problem they had at Glasto was that they were on before Beyonce. Meaning half the crowd were there early to get a good spot for her. At T in the Park however, they are headlining the NME Stage which obviously means the people who go see Pendulum will actually WANT to be there. Plus Scottish crowds are far more crazier than any other crowds in the UK :smirk:

2. Set Times
If it is true that they only got an hour for Glasto, then they will get at least 15 minutes more at TITP (I think NME headliners get 15 minutes less than Main Stage headliners which is usually about an hour and a half). So there is the possibility of them playing 2 or 3 more songs than they had at Glasto. Not forgetting they'll also have an encore.

3. Lighting
Because the set @ Glastonbury was around about 8pm, it was clearly too light outside for the light show to have much of an effect. At T they'll be on about 2 and a half hours later than they were at Glasto, and so will get a lot darker, a lot quicker. It happened with the Prodigy last year who headlined the same stage - first few songs was pretty light but then it suddenly got dark and the light show was absolutely unreal!

Also, there's more chance that they will have a lot of footage shown on the TV and BBC website seeing as they are headlining.

Here's hoping anyway.

Fuck that really does look like the worst Pendulum gig ive ever seen :(. Guess you cant always have it like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx5YU9ixpJ4

Best gig they have ever done by a country mile.. Fucking fireworks, flares, crowds soo mental and the energy flowing to the stage was insane. U can see me side of stage at the start (on a photog mission) totally blown away. At one point I was hiding behind Perrys amps with the tech and they were cranked soo loud, them valves were running HOT! Everything was soo tight as well and everyone was vibing off each other. After the gig we all bowled off into the depths of Glastonbury, avalon and shangri la. I ended up chipping early and found some nice girls attaching themselves to me on the way back to my tent which was pretty much the complete opposite side of the festival site.:thumbdown:
