i dont think that starting a new topic every time is the answer,
things will get really crowded,
its likely that a new topic will be created for every few views of a genuine topic, cus nearly everyone has offtopic stuff to say in addition to the
on topic stuff.
just do the math,
1) how many genuine topics do we have?
2) now how many fequently active members do we have?
3) how many could we have when this community really gets started?
multiple 1. by either 2. or 3.
thats alot of useless topics, and alot of work for you lot,and possibly not even workable!!
better to keep all off topic stuff inside the on topic i think?!

But the issue with that.. SOmeone new joins the boards.. Wants some information.. They have to sieve through endless amounts of off topic to find on
topic... We will give certain things a trial run to see how then pan out...
As Ash has said. We are trying to work everything out to the best we can...

you should set some kind of a limit, like if theres more than, say... 5 off topic replies, the whole lot gets moved to the off topic thread - or
something like that

thats what i said, i just said it more mathematically.
well how about this,, using angelics idea. the poster flags his post as off topic when he posts it (by pressing a button obviously).
also users can flag up posts as of topic, and if 5 in a row get flagged, then those posts get moved to an off topic (automatically) and a single
(server posted) post gets left in the topic with a link to the off topic,
but the off topic topics, are moved to a forum you would not be able to access through normal means (or is clearly labelled "off topic junk
automatically moved"
this saves newbies sifting through all of it to get info.
thats just an idea that may have a few wrinkles in it still, and would probably need alot of coding, but it would get the job done i feel,
also any abuse get you one strike
